Graffiti Substrates |
| Graffiti Index |
The point of this exercise is to refute the notion that graffiti is the thoughtless tagging of random surfaces. Yes, at times, it may be random... but far less often than one might think. Many more times, the graffiti writer puts a great deal of thought into the placemnt of his/her tag. Among the factors to consider are visibility, height, material, and contrast with the surroundings. You'll notice in these series of images that one surface will be all marked up while the surrounding surface(s) are left blank. Many graffiti writers are quite thoughtful of where they leave their marks. [ Dumpsters ] [ Mailboxes ] [ Mobile ] [ Pipes ] [ Poles ] [ Eponymous surfaces ] [ Miscellaneous ] |
